And then two come along at once...
 | Chelfyn is very excited. He's been booked to play alongside Chris Liberator in Wellington on his birthday weekend. Chris is one of our favourite DJ/producers, a founder of the Truelove collective and a thoroughly nice bloke. |
| LAB4 are also in the country that weekend. They were voted best live act by Mixmag in 2003 and are playing Wellington on the 16th of April and Auckland on the 17th. Adam and Lez from LAB4 have got to be two of the hardest working guys in the scene. They think nothing of playing a European festival, then flying to a gig in London before driving to another in the same weekend. They are also really big in Japan where the kids love their cyber-rock look and their manic live show. I interviewed LAB4 before we moved to New Zealand and I'm really pleased that things are really kicking off for them now. They have worked really hard and deserve it. | |
Apparently kids in Britain are starting to suffer from Celebrity Syndrome – the belief that they don’t need education as they’ll get famous instead. It’s a dangerous road to go down as there is no such thing as overnight success. When you speak to most successful/famous people they have a good 5 – 10 years hard slog behind them if not more. Britney and Christina have been at it since they were six. As for the Olsen Twins – I think they were grown in a vat. No-one can be that perfect twice.
