Transmission @ Studio, K'Rd Auckland, June 2nd

A whole bunch of the TMET Crew are going to be getting together for Transmission at Studio this Saturday. I don't think we've all been out together en masse for a few years.

Mohawk Media is providing visuals in the main room, and Justin Sane is DJing alongside the lovely Tanya M. Plus the Filterbrats are doing a live decks & effects set with Phunky Dave mixing visuals.

Al & Cat Xtensa have been creating together since 1994 after meeting in Al’s homeland Australia, immersing themselves in music whenever possible. Now back in Cat’s homeland New Zealand they are helping spread the psydance party message with others including Phuture Phlux & Funkalala Wigglicious.

They have also been creating space music with electric violinist/producer Terra Nine (Mike Wescot), providing bass guitar & didjeridoo on the track ‘Ancestors’, to be released on his new album ‘Strange Craft’ on Tempest Recordings June 2007.

Connect the Dots to being Creative

This is a great column on being creative, by the chief designer of the popular fantasy card game - Magic The Gathering. He says:

" I found that people used the term "creative" when I did one of several things:

1. I had an original idea. That is, I thought of something that others haven't heard before.
2. I was imaginative. That is, I came up with a concept that, while not new, was used in an unfamiliar way.
3. I was good at problem solving. That is, I was quick to find unique solutions to problems.
4. I excelled at finding many ways to make use of a new idea. That is, I found more avenues than normal to exploit a new concept."

He then goes on to list 10 things you can do to be more creative.
