Here's a good guide from Copyblogger to online business gleaned from the wisdom of Benjamin Franklin. My favourite is:

“Glass, china, and reputation are easily cracked, and never well mended.”

I competely agree. It's very hard to recover from the tarnish of unethical business practices.

Seven Things You Should Know About Telecommuting

I've been telecommuting for well over a decade, and am far more productive in my own studio. I don't waste time stuck in traffic, and save a fortune on clothes, and lunches. Bevis England has been championing telework in NZ for many years and has some great resources at his Telework NZ website.

It's not for everyone. Motivated self starters only.
Trust your tele-workers. Manage the work not the workers.

Mohawk VJs @ Warriors, Studio, Friday 13th
