The Lowdown on MsB
I don't normally fill out questionnaires that occasionally get sent to me, as I avoid typing as much as I can these days. However this one was sent to me by my gorgeous friend Victoria Legg a stunning blonde I knew in Bristol, before I emigrated to New Zealand in 2001. Victoria was a tower of strength when I got married to Chelfyn in 2000. She sorted the bouquets at both of my weddings and was on hand to manage the press when we wed at Glastonbury Festival. Then she rustled up a BMW and chauffer for the offical do in the Bristol registery office. She even played the Propellorheads remix of the Bond Theme in the car on the way, as I'd decided I wanted a Bond theme for my Civil ceremony. So as a tribute to Victoria my beautiful Britannica Sister, here's the lowdown on MsBehaviour:

1. WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?
Black Vest and jeans with ‘I must not play with boys’ written on them. Bare feet - Kiwi style.

2. WHAT COLOUR PANTS ARE YOU WEARING
None. Cough.

3. WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?
Birdsong from the Tui in the tree next to my studio.

4. CAN YOU JUGGLE
Yes. I used to work on a juggling stall at the weekends by the Watershed in Bristol (UK) selling balls, clubs and other things you can fling in the air. I once taught a policeman to juggle and he came back a few months later and juggled 3 truncheons. To cries of “so that’s where my taxes go” from the crowd.

5. WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU ATE?
Tuna mayo sandwich for lunch.

6. IF YOU WERE A CRAYON, WHAT COLOUR WOULD YOU BE?
Purple to match my hair.

7. HOW IS THE WEATHER RIGHT NOW?
Warm and showery though it was blazing sunshine at 4.00 p.m. when I popped into town. It’s summer here now and you can burn in 5 minutes due to the lack of ozone layer. You have to slip on some shades, slop on some sunscreen and slap on a hat to be safe.

8. LAST PERSON YOU TALKED TO ON THE PHONE?
I chatted to our new label manager Justin Sane earlier. We’ve been working with him for a few years now and he’s young and very enthusiastic. So we’ve given him a promotion and said, "go for it young man." I’m sure he’ll take the label to places we never even dreamed of and has already signed up some exciting UK names in the past few days.

9. WHAT THINGS YOU NOTICE ABOUT THE OPPOSITE SEX?
Hmm. Height, eyes, bum but I’m usually perving at my husband. Even after 6 years of marriage I hardly notice other men. Girls are a different story ;)

10. DO YOU LIKE THE PERSON/PEOPLE WHO SENT YOU THIS?
She is one of the most amazing people I am lucky enough to know, and I love her with my heart and soul.

11. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON, WHO WOULD YOU BE?
The other me. I like being me so why choose anyone different?

12. HOW ARE YOU TODAY?
Great. Getting very excited about a beach party we’re putting on this weekend.

13. FAVOURITE DRINK?
Water, or Charlies Juices & Smoothies.

14. FAVOURITE ALCOHOLIC DRINK
Fejoia bubbly made by the Lothlorien Elves or the occasional beer. I also drink the odd Westie Vodka made in a friend of a friend’s still. You’re allowed to own and operate your own still in New Zealand, as long as you don’t sell your homemade alcohol. I’m not allowed to drink tequila outside the house anymore. It always makes me part with my clothes and I’m supposed to be respectable in public these days.

Here's my recipie for a 'Waitakere Sunrise':

0-2 fingers of Westie Vodka (depending of time of day), 1 cup of Charlie's Berry & Fruit Smoothie topped up with Charlie's Orange juice and crushed ice. Chuck in a Mint leaf and orange, lemon & slices. Counts towards your 5 a day quota.

15. FAVOURITE LUNCH MEAT?
Tuna.

16. FAVOURITE SPORTS?
Bleurgh. In my world sport does not exist. As far as I’m concerned Rugby et al is just ritualized violence and cricket is the most boring thing ever. Though I do get the drinking for hours in the sun bit. I’m with Chelfyn in that anything with points for artistic merit is not a sport (see synchronized swimming), but in a pinch I’d choose to watch stuff like skateboarding, surfing or dirtbiking as it’s amazing what humans can so with a board strapped to their feet or a bike under their butt.

17. HAIR COLOUR?
Purple Haze (by Fudge my lovely sponsors who send me boxes of yummy products. Their stuff is also great for psoriasis and excema and is not tested on animals. Apart from us of course).

18. EYE COLOUR?
Grey, Green, or blue depending on mood, clothing or my tinted contacts.

19. TATTOOS?
Yes. When my mother first saw my tatts in a changing room she cried, ”the Russians are going to get you”. To this day I have no idea what she meant.

I got a spider on my ankle and a ladybird on my stomach when I was 15 and had sneaked off school for the day. I also have a bee on my right breast and a large dolphin with maori designs and red flames on my left shoulder. I got it as an engagement tattoo (Chelfyn has the Japanese letter for love in his ankle). It’s a beautiful design done by one of the guys at Skin Deep in Old Market, Bristol and is a brilliant cover up of a Dolphin and Egyptian Ankh that I had done in Glastonbury when I was 22. So in total I have had six tattoos and after a break of 6 years I’m planning my next one.

20. PIERCINGS?
The standard pair on ears at 13 and then a few more I did myself as an angsty teen. I had my tongue done once but took it out as it made me start to lisp. I'm planning on a another piercing in the cartilage bit of my inner ear, but need to pick a time when I won’t need to be wearing headphones and I do a weekly radio show...

21. STAR SIGN?
Cancer. Or Water Ox in China, or Beaver in American Indian. Not that I believe a word of it but I still read them occasionally. My forays into attempting to understand quantum physics leads me to believe that there are an infinite number of universes & possibilities, and by focussing on the ones we want we increase the likelihood of what we want to happen actually happening. Which also explains things like positive visualisation, synchronicity and plain old beleif. I choose the reality where I am happy, healthy, and wealthy. Though I'm happy with very litle materially and I value time over money. One of my favourtie quotes is by Bonnie Friedman from the New York Times: "An unhurried sense of time is in itself, a form of wealth."

22. SIBLINGS AND THEIR AGES :
None. I’m an only child, and adopted which means I was choen and therefore extra special! I was born in Auckland and left for the UK with my new parents when I was 6 weeks old. I lived in Hereford until I was 18, before moving to Bristol until I came back to New Zealand in 2001. I love it here and when I set foot on Kiwi soil for the first time in years, I felt a bolt of energy go through me & heard a ringing in my ears. I just can't wait to spend the rest of my life exploring this country's nooks and crannies.

30. WINTER OR SUMMER?
I love Autumn (March-May) best in New Zealand as you get long, balmy, laid back days, and after the schools go back in February the beaches are empty. Also the far tip of the North Island is sub-tropical, so even in winter you can have what Brits would consider to be a lush sunny holiday.

31. HUGS OR KISSES?
Hugs are lovely, but kisses are just for me and my boy.

32. RELATIONSHIPS OR ONE NIGHT STANDS?
I’m lucky enough to have married the love of my life, so wish all my single friends the same good fortune. BC (Before Chelfyn) I was a serial monogamist so definitely relationships.

One night stands are like eating a tub of popcorn. Great at the time and sometimes they gives you a (sugar) rush but they usually leave you feeling sick afterwards. Sex is not a short-cut to knowing someone.

33. CHOCOLATE OR VANILLA?
Chocolate

34. DO YOU WANT YOUR FRIENDS TO WRITE BACK?
I don’t mind as I know them well anyway.

36. WHOSE THE LEAST LIKELY TO RESPOND?
Most of my mates as I usually don’t forward or reply to these things. MY RSI is bad so I try not to type much these days.

37. WHAT BOOKS ARE YOU READING NOW?
I have a smorgasbord of delights from the library to dip into, including a selection of Futurology (Alvin Toffler & Asimov), some History, Science & Technology books, with some Chicklit and utter trash to format C colon my head. (Sorry Geek joke there). My depths on this occasion was Jackie Collins - Hollywood Wives (The New Generation) and Julie Burchill Ambition. I drew a line at Judith Krantz.

38. WHAT'S ON YOUR MOUSE PAD?
Haven't got one. Or a desk. Or a chair. I now work on a yoga mat, cross-legged with Dictation software.

39. FAVOURITE BOARD GAME?
Backgammon.

40. WHAT DID YOU DO LAST NIGHt?
Re-arranged our bedroom and cleared out my wardrobe. It was very liberating and has inspired me to start sewing again.

41. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU THINK OF WHEN YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING?
Saying hello to my husband and snuggling my cats.

42. DO YOU BELIEVE IN EVOLUTION OR CREATION?
Evolution.

43. ARE YOU HAPPY IT'S THE END OF THE QUIZ?
Yes thanks. I enjoyed that.
